Khinalig
The highest inhabited village in Europe
About This Tour
Khinalig (Xinaliq) sits at over 2,350 metres above sea level in the Greater Caucasus, making it one of the highest permanently inhabited settlements in Europe. The village has its own unique language spoken by no more than 2,000 people in the world. Stone houses stacked like a natural amphitheatre, ancient traditions, nomadic shepherds and breathtaking alpine scenery make this an extraordinary cultural and natural experience.
